" uhhh... ahem! Have you seen doctor's salaries recently, particularly GPs? I am not saying they haven't had to be renumerated for losing so much of their professional autonomy but they have been VERY lavishly renumerated. Many doctors are quite happy with the status quo, especially as they can afford private health care for themselves and sell private health care at inflated rates to others.
